Card Creation Tips

The photo editing tools went away, how do I get them back?

Click on the photo (or any one of the photos that you uploaded) to get them back.

The photo editing tools are blocking something. How do I move or get rid of them?

To move them, just grab the top bar like you would any window/palette on your computer and drag them somewhere else.

To get rid of them, click the close button in the top left or just click off of the tools anywhere on the card you are creating except on one of the photos you have uploaded.

How do I change the text?

Click on the text you would like to change. A red box will surround the text that is editable as you mouse over it. If a red box doesn't appear, it is not editable. We've made the decision that some text on some cards, for example a "Merry Christmas" headline on a card might not be editable because it is a Merry Christmas card.

I can't select a text line on a card.

I get an "That image is too small to print. Choose another" message when I upload my image. What is going on?

The image may look big enough on your screen, but it is not big enough to print on a commercial press. A computer monitor has a dpi (dots per inch) of 72 while a commercial printing press prints at 300 dpi. So, for example, you may be uploading a photo or image to a 5 x 7 card with an image area that is approximately half the size of the card. Your photo/image should most likely be at least around 500 kb or so. If you are wondering what the size of your photo/image is, find it on your computer, right click it with your mouse and choose "Show Properties" on a PC and "Get Info" on a Mac.

I completed my card and clicked the "Preview & Approve" button and noticed that some of your default text is still on the card. How do I get rid of it?

If text is editable (which means it has a red box when you mouse over it), you can simply select the text and delete it. It will then not show up on the "Preview & Approve" page. You must select each and every line of text on a card in this way since all text is in single lines.

Is all text in single lines? Why not text blocks?

Single lines helps us track and reproduce cards much more accurately.

I can't select the "Preview & Approve" button.

You must first upload your own photos or images. Once all of the image positions have been filled, the "Preview & Approve" button will become clickable.

How do I change fonts, change the colors, or play with the background graphics on a card?

At this time, the only things you can change are the photos and the text. We are working on creating variations on cards in terms of colors and fonts.
